Floating cube: Designed by Eric Clough of 212 Box. This art piece houses very powerful magnets in either cube half, and are thus attracted to each other without touching due to the stainless steel tether anchoring either part to the cabinets sides. You can pass a piece of cardboard between the two parts and they will spin when touched enhancing this magical floating effect. The 1/32" thick aluminum sheet was welded and all surfaces finished out to a mirror polish. Engineering by Erich Blohm of Special Structures.
